Jesus wanted people to go forth and preach his gospel; he wanted them to spread the good news. Instead, missionary, fellowship and other church-related efforts focus on Hell, damnation and eternal torment – none of which is good news.
It is not up to Christians to judge others or their behaviors. Members of any church that claims to have Christ at the head should not be limiting the choice of those who are not a part of the congregation. It is up to each individual to find the path that he or she can walk.
Go out and preach the good news that people can live forever in paradise, that there is someone who loves them, but focus your message so that it will help others come to light. Preaching hate and violence in the name of Christ is vain and reprehensible. Christians are not here to judge the others on this journey. They are here to provide light and service to those who need help regardless of what choices were made to create that need.
