Notes from Practical Superheroes in Pre-CGI days
“There’s a charm to these old shows,” says Sean Smithson of twitchfilm.com. If you can enjoy bad movies that are so bad they’re good.
Dr. Strange was influenced by the art of Frank Frezetta.
“The dialogue is brilliant; it’s actually life changing,” says Smithson about Albert Payun’s Captain America. “He (Payun) came dangerously close to being a valid filmmaker.”
Global Frequency was good.
Roger Corman’s Fantastic Four was made just to hold the rights.
Smithson says that all of the initial attempts at making superhero movies were goofy.
