Warm up:
Win, Lose or Draw: Draw what’s on the card until your team guesses correctly.
One of These Things Is Not Like the Others: 4 words, say which one is not like the others and why the others are similar.
Focus for October: Fall and Halloween
We will discuss Fall traditions including all things pumpkin, “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” (25 minutes) and Orson Welle’s 1938 Radio dram classic “War of the Worlds” (57 minutes).
Halloween subjects include pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving/painting, candy, Trick or Treating, costumes and other traditions, like bobbing for apples and eating a donut from a string.
Other media to look into include “Watcher in the Woods,” “E.T.,” “ Hocus Pocus,” “The Addams Family” and “Something Wicked This Way Comes.” Songs to listen to include “Thriller,” “the Monster Mash,” “Purple People Eater,” “Werewolves of London,” “Ghostbusters,” “Witchy Woman” and “Season of the Witch.”
Preparing for the upcoming New Year’s celebration.
