How the Archers saved Christmas
Santa was well on his way,
And Christmas Eve turned foggy.
With no Rudolph to guide his sleigh,
Flying was going to be dodgy.
So Santa called out for an assist
To a group of archers passing by.
Hoping they could get rid of the mist,
The archers let their arrows fly.
Fletchings from high poundage bows
Sizzled through the air.
Making, through the fog, tiny inroads
As archers shot in pairs.
Spiral fletchings spun slowly
Through the cloud.
The current created wholly
Kept the fog a bit cowed.
They all fired at Will;
Thankfully the reindeer dodged.
The archers laughed still
Because they had their shots intentionally botched.
And while their arrows had their effect,
Some would say it was the merriment
That was responsible for the dark clouds wrecked.
Because, after all of their arrows had been spent,
There was some of the cloud left.
It didn’t dampen their spirits,
And with movements of their bows so deft
And a small application of wits,
They spun a stiff breeze forward
That sent the fog away,
And the Santa that they adored
Sent Merry Christmases from his sleigh.
