The life and times of Malta Public Transport
Bus $#&%$*
I decided to eat out with a friend even though it was getting late, and I ran the risk of not getting the bus. It wasn’t that late, and it seemed like we could both use the company. So we had a good conversation, enjoyed the food, couldn’t really decide when to leave and finally ended the evening.
I couldn’t decide whether I should walk back to the residence. I started walking, and then the lazy gene took over and I decided to go to the bus stop. I stood there for about 10 minutes. The bus was scheduled to arrive on the hour. It didn’t. I decided to walk back to the residence.
It is actually a decent walk if you don’t mind the traffic. There isn’t much to look at, but it seems to go by quickly enough, and depending on the time of day, there is the possibility of visiting a toy store or one of the better pastizzerias on the island.
I turn the corner and head away from the roundabout where the government is doing work. Normally, I would have crossed near the roundabout, but there were enough cars that I decided it would be a terrible idea to play real life Frogger at this time of night.
I walked the couple of blocks and crossed the road. The 202 passed me as I turned down the road toward the residence. This would go down as the day that I had outwalked a bus. It also shows that waiting for the bus may not be the best idea.
