Writer has the power of Grayskull for his new book
On Saturday June 3, 2017, at Lilac City Comicon, Brian C. Baer talked about He-Man and how he relates to him. Baer started with He-Man when he was very young. His brother came to the hospital with all of his action figures to teach Baer about He-Man when Baer was born.
He Man was the first cartoon based on an action figure. Until Ronald Reagan deregulated the industry, companies were not allowed to create cartoons to market to children.
This year is the 30th anniversary of the He-Man movie, which is widely panned. Baer has another take on it.
“I love the movie. There are some fascinating design elements,” says Baer. “I can also enjoy the camp.” It pays great attention to detail. Unfortunately, the movie ran into some production issues with the studio, and the director had to pay to finish it.
Baer did some interviews for his book about He-Man:
“I got to geek out,” says Baer. “I tried to be professional, but I was geeking out the whole time.”
