d23 Expo Design Challenge
The D23 Expo has released its rules for the D23 Expo Design Challenge. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, artists are encouraged to come up with designs that celebrate Disney pirates. While the challenge is marking the 50th anniversary of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland, every Disney pirate is eligible for use in the Design Challenge.
Sketches of the proposed artwork should be submitted by March 31, 2017. Art will be judged on creativity and artistic expression, each worth 25%, and originality worth 50%. Finalists will be chosen on April 21, 2017, and final artwork will be due in Glendale on June 23.
23 finalists will be chosen to display their work at D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. Each finalist will receive two one-day tickets for D23 Expo. Second and third runner-ups get a medal. The grand prize winner will also get $2300. Entrants must be 18, legal residents of the U.S. and physically located in the U.S. at the time of entry. You do not have to be a member of D23 to win. Check out the officials rules, and get your pirate on!
