Ding Dong Ditch the 'Neighbors'
Neighbors is a lot like every frat party that has ever been held, the longer people stay, the more IQ points they lose. Sitting in the audience, viewers will feel their intelligence drain away from them until their minds are left totally blank by the end of the film. For those who don’t mind being dumber, this is the film to go see. For the rest of America, the Other Woman is a better comedy.
When the frat moves in next door, what do new parents do? Try to look cool while getting the frat house to stay quiet. Apparently, that attempt involves bribery with pot and bad attempts at today’s slang. This film proves that comedy is hard to do. However, the film isn’t all bad. For people who want to see Seth Rogen and Zac Efron beat the crap out of each other, Neighbors has you covered. It also has Efron, Rogen and other cast members in various stages of uncovered. Drugs, dildos, foul language, physical attempts at humor – all there, just none of it as smartly put together as it might have been. For a truly mediocre film going experience that will leave you wondering where you parked the car, what time the kids are supposed to go to bed and who that person sitting next to you is, go see Neighbors, it’ll have the same effect as drugs without the messy legal issues. |
