Cate Blanchett kills it in Thor: Ragnarok
Thor: Ragnarok is a colorful, funny film that represents the best of Marvel productions. While it features Thor, the Hulk, Loki and some new heroes, it is more of a space adventure/ fantasy than a superhero film. Superheroes can only be found on Earth because their designation is one that is comparative to the average person vis-à-vis a hero. Semantics aside – Ragnarok lives up to its name in every sense. It is the apocalypse that rocks (with apologies to Dean Fenech).
Cate Blanchett isn’t the only women who slays it. Tessa Thompson as a Valkyrie does a great job at being the emotionally stunted warrior with survivor’s guilt. Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth are at their best, but you wouldn’t expect anything else from these Marvel stalwarts. Jeff Goldblum is who he is and does well in his role as Grandmaster. Karl Urban is the bad guy you root for to do the right thing.
If you haven’t seen Thor: Ragnarok, what are you waiting for. (Aly take your dad!) For major spoilers and the downers, keep reading after the trailer.

The 3 Warriors and Lady Sif
You gotta feel bad for the 3 warriors. They were in for little more than a cameo and clearly no match for the God of Death! (Which after seeing the way she single-handedly mowed down the entire Asgardian army, it’s amazing that Hogun lasts as long as he does.) At least, Zachary Levi has the Tangled series to go back to, but what about the other 2 actors? Maybe they can find work in future Marvel films with makeup for Hogun and less makeup for Volstagg… Sure, Marvel has a penchant for bringing back the dead (they even did it in this film literally), but they’ll have some explaining to do. Good thing, Jaime Alexander wasn’t available for Ragnarok. Lady Sif could still pop-up somewhere in the future.
