Lou Ferrigno muscles up at Salt lake Comic con
Lou Ferrigno revealed at Salt Lake Comic Con that a solo Hulk movie would start filming in about a year. His next release is The Scorpion King 4.
“I used to read the Hulk comics,” says Ferrigno. “I was very introverted as a child.” Ferrigno dealt with a hearing and speech problems, and other kids would bully him, but the comics helped to give him some confidence, and he started working out. “I was bullied my whole life,” says Ferrigno. “Kids don’t have the psychological defenses to defend themselves.” “At an early age, I learned that I was the only one that could help me.” He ended up getting big enough to beat up the boy that bullied him. After that, they became best friends and the former bully became Ferrigno’s biggest fan. Superman and Ferrigno Ferrigno is a big fan of Superman. “I really believed as a kid that Superman was real,” says Ferrigno. He put on a red blanket for a cape, jumped off a second story and broke both his legs. That was the end of Superman for him. Fitness and Muscles At age 62, he is 270 pounds “all muscle, no fat,” and he is a part of the Ferrigno Legacy Expo in Santa Barbara, California, Nov. 28 and 29, 2014. “We are all limited by genetics,” says Ferrigno. “It’s all about maximizing your potential.” He says that people need to be aware of their diet and exercise throughout their lives, but especially after a certain age as the body starts to lose muscle mass. Staying away from drugs and alcohol, especially in excessive amount, and sleeping well are also important parts of success. “I learned to comepete with myself,” says Ferrigno. “You have to train your butt off to be a world champion.” Eating right is all about “listening to the body” and portion size. Ferrigno never eats anything on cheat days that are larger than his fist. Charity Work Ferrigno was happy to have participated in Celebrity Apprentice. He used his muscles and the reputation that he must not be very smart because of them to his advantage. Ferrigno ended up raising $100,000 for what he termed “my kind of” charities, ALS and Muscular Dystrophy. Ferrigno’s favorite battle cry is “Puny God.” The first time that Ferrigno worked with Bill Bixby, was on the episode “King of the Beach.” Ferrigno couldn’t make Bixby laughed, and it helped Ferrigno learn what a professional actor should be. |
