5 Movies on Netflix to watch before Salt lake Comic Con 2014
August 28, 2014
With just a week to go before Salt Lake Comic Con, there are some movies that you could catch up with on Netflix starring your favorite comic con guests. Even if you are going to a Regal Cinema near you to see Ghostbusters on the big screen, you still have some time to squeeze in some great movies, including Ghostbusters II. See the original at the cinema and get the sequel on YouTube. Just don’t ask Ernie Hudson to cross the streams when you see him at Salt Lake Comic Con. Cary Elwes as a bad guy? Ella Enchanted is a great spoof of the fairy tale genre. The main draw may be Anne Hathaway and her singing abilities, but Elwes is unforgettable as the slimy bad guy. People cannot get enough of The Man, especially in Utah. With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story is a good way to learn more about the man who brought so many characters to life. The may not be real, and he may have done it for the money, but that doesn’t make them any less real to fans. When you ask Stan Lee who would win in a fight, he will tell you, “It depends on who is drawing the comic.” Eliza Dushku plays the cool and sexy girl in The New Guy. For a fun case of want to be mistaken identity, this movie brings it. Jon Heder is beloved for his role in Napolean Dynamite, and while that film isn’t on Netflix, The Benchwarmers is. See the misfit underdogs take on a much better team. Plenty of laughs ensue. Bonus films you might want to check out include Congo with Hudson. It’s about a team that goes into Africa and gets attacked by apes. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea has Barbara Eden in it and is also available for viewing on Netflix.
