3 New Year's Resolutions for book lovers
When it comes to making New Year’s resolutions, most people try for lofty goals that have already become impossible by the second week in January if not before. However, if you are a booklover, you can make three easy resolutions:
Rachel E. Kelly – Colorworld series
Stories about a teen/college student who has a superpower that no one would want. What would you do if you couldn’t touch anyone without killing them?
Darren Lamb – Rebirth, The Sea of Sin series
Great action sequences coupled with believable characters by an author who works hard at making a difference in the world. The stories are great; the bonus in reading Lamb is for his contributions to the world at large.
Shannen Crane Camp – Sugar Coated
Touching on all the senses, Camp creates a solid world with beautiful descriptions and engaging characters with clear motivations.
Natalie Whipple – Transparent, Blindsided, House of Ivy and Sorrow
Whether you want to read about a mutant teen in a world of mutant people, or you want to read about witches in the real world, Whipple has something for you. Her new series Relax, I’m a Ninja also sounds intriguing.
According to one independent writer, the best way to support an author is to post a review of his or her work on the websites where that work is sold.
My resolution this year is to seek out great new writers, read their works and tell the world via the Internet about them.
- find a local, independent author that you enjoy
- help that person gain some new readers
- read more independent authors.
