More Freebies at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure
Mickey Mouse Stickers
In order to get these freebies, you have to find a cast member who has some in his or her pocket. They are usually reserved for the children, but in Disneyland, everyone is a child at heart, so adults shouldn’t be shy about asking for one. Mickey comes in many poses, some standing, some head only. It is just the luck of the draw as to what is available. Cast members may hand these out when lines are long or when they see a child who needs a little pick me up.
Celebration Buttons
The Disneyland Resort offers several different buttons that will make the experience in the park more interactive. Happy Birthday, Happy Anniversary, Family Reunion, and Just Married buttons are a few that have been available in the past. Selection varies by location, and Disney stops production on some buttons.
The most useful of all buttons is the I’m Celebrating button. It is generic and has space for a cast member to write what exactly it is that someone is celebrating. The best place to get your button is at City Hall in Disneyland. If a particular button is unavailable there, the cast member helping you may be able to tell you where to get the button you are looking for.
Lockers at Grizzly River Run
For the ride that will get you soaked, lockers are a must. Disney California Adventure supplies two hours of locker use for free. The lockers are conveniently located to the left of the Grizzly River Run queue entrance and FASTPASS service. Spend longer than two hours though, and there is a charge (which keeps people from hogging the lockers).
Enchanted Tiki Room Postcards
Go to the inside bar at the Enchanted Tiki Room, and you might not only find a smaller line for those delicious Dole Whips, but you might also find some postcards. These postcards feature a recipe for “Pacific Sunset” on the back and the story about how the drink came to be on the front.
FASTPASSES ARE FREE
It still amazes me that people do not know that FASTPASSES are free. If you have a valid park ticket, you get access to the FASTPASS system. The last trip, I heard at least two people suggest that maybe the FASTPASS system was for use by only some ticket holders. Until Disney adopts the policies of other theme parks that are no charging for front of the line admission in VIP fashion, FASTPASSES are free.
