The Sexuality of Cartoons: the Gay Agenda of 'Frozen'?
Much has been made of the gay agenda in Frozen, but I am going to let you in on a little secret. Everything in Frozen is a drawing. It isn’t real – none of it. They are cartoon characters.
Why do we care about the comic characters sexuality when they have none? They aren’t going to have sex and make babies or not base on their perceived orientation. The fact of the matter is that an animator somewhere is going to draw the characters and their children with the only pro-creation act being the one between, in this case, bytes and the language that arranges them into visual information. Wile E. Coyote never actually blew up. Mickey Mouse did not actually play the xylophone on a cow’s teeth or swing an actual cat around by the tail. When Mickey and Minnie kiss and Horace Horsecollar gets in the way, it does not mean anything for sexuality – it is a joke. They aren’t actually kissing. They aren’t even people. The next controversy will revolve around whether or not a pig and a frog can have children and what they would look like if they did. A pig and a frog that marry is most certainly and anti-speciesist agenda aimed at getting people to move toward bestiality. After all, if a pig and a frog can have babies, why not a man and a polar bear or a woman and a hammerhead shark? There is enough that is happening to everyone personally; there is no reason to get upset about those things that are fiction and/or have no effect on the person in question. If Oaken is drawn gay, like Jessica Rabbit was just drawn bad, people need to get over it. Maybe he is gay, maybe he isn’t, but why would anyone waste his or her time wondering about it? Rather than getting upset about a situation being created in one’s own mind (and a situation that clearly speaks to the level of Freud in one’s thought processes), it is important to look at those things that are going to affect one’s own health, one’s own family and one’s own happiness – none of those things should be affected for more than moment by any film. |
