The Battle of the Ampere charges ahead in Vey series
Michael Vey: Battle of the Ampere is completely implausible. A group of electric teenagers and their friends take on the corporation that created them. They are in a foreign country and only have some help from a mysterious voice running a shadowy organization that is having troubles of its own.
Of course, if you are reading a book from the Michael Vey series for plausibility, you are reading it for the wrong reasons. The Battle of the Ampere offers a fast adventure through the Peruvian jungle as Michael and his friends try to reconnect in a country where they are considered terrorists. Perhaps the strongest moments in the book come when the emotional roller coaster kicks in. Without giving anything away, author Richard Paul Evans does an excellent job of creating situations that feel real and logical within the world he has created. If you haven’t started reading the Michael Vey series, this third book is a good reason to go out and get the first two; then you will be able to spend a couple of days with the characters that become more vivid as the series goes on. You can expect to be shocked in the third installment of the Michael Vey series. |
