Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 turns Awesome Mix up a notch
GO SEE IT! Do I have to say more and try to do it without spoiling any essential plot points? For the sake of the Internet and its search bots, I do. So… Guardians of the Galaxy is funny, has moments that will get you in the feel, isn’t entirely unpredictable, and is just a damn good movie. Halfway through I forgot that I was supposed to be critiquing it; it’s that good.
Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Chris Pratt, a couple of surprise stars, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker… I mean seriously, I don’t think there was one phoned in performance. The biggest problem I had with the movie is that it seemed like they sped through the solutions to some of the problems. Like a sit-com all your problems can be solved in 30 minutes. But WHO CARES? This is a big, fun, superheroey, space opera that deserves at least one more viewing for me. I don’t know how Marvel continues to make their last movie there best movie ever but GotG Vol.2 is definitely the best Marvel movie ever. (Psst… DC, you can have adult themes and darkness and still have fun.) Go, enjoy the gang and leave the theater thinking you didn’t spend enough time there. (Yes, there are five after film scenes, I counted.) Then let’s all look forward to the next Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix. |
