You know who you are, but you don’t know what you do for a living. You know that something terrible is going to happen, but you don’t know exactly what even though you are the one that is going to cause the terrible thing to happen. You will fall victim to your own dreadful actions. In “Judgment Night,” a man gets his come-uppance for the rest of eternity. Is it karma, hell or both?
This story is about a ship in 1942 that has lost its convoy and is left defenseless against a German U-boat. One man on the ship tries to save everyone on the ship, but he fails and must relive the same night over and over with the result never changing. Karl Lanser learns too late that people are the same all over and that there are consequences that he will have to suffer for his actions against his fellow human beings.
