'Ant-Man and Wasp' comedy, capers and...
Ant-Man and Wasp is everything you want in a feel-good Marvel film. Paul Rudd is funny through his actions alone, and Michael Pena is at his Mr. Obvious, fast-talking best, especially when he is faced against an antagonist. Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas bring their A games, as do Laurence Fishburne and Pena’s sidekick playing pals, David Dastmalchian and Tip T.I. Harris. All in all, Ant-Man and Wasp live up to the star billing and the Marvel movies before.
Where it does better than its predecessor is with the performances of Lilly and Hannah John-Kamen and a smaller star turn by Abby Ryder Fortson, whose smile lights up the screen as Ant-Man’s daughter and accomplice. It was good to see the cast of “Them!” reunited with the ant from “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.” Go see this film before anyone, including me, spoils it for you.
Speaking of which, spoilers below the trailer and ads…

‘Ant-Man and Wasp’ is a glory of storytelling that pays homage to those stories where there really isn’t a main bad guy. The main impetus to action doesn’t involve a threat from someone, though there is a person who looks to take advantage of the situation and another who is looking out for her own self-interest. The darkness in each human being loses to the light, even the person taking advantage of the situation admits his wrong-doings.
As a caper, a comedy and a story about people trying to do the right thing, ‘Ant-Man and Wasp’ will leave you feeling good when you leave the theater… unless you stay for the mid-credits scene. If you’re a Marvel fan, you’re probably waiting for the consequences to the snap heard around the world. The film ends, the credits roll and you’re feeling good, and then the horror hits you. The mid-credits scene comes up and the nightmare becomes real.
Thanos really does ruin everything. WHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY!?! Tear from my eye. Stupid Thanos! Just leave before the credits roll and you’ll have a much better time.
