Catholic Community Services of Utah provides basic needs services, refugee resettlement and substance abuse treatment in the Salt Lake area.
By giving help to those who are hungry, providing services to the newest people in the United States and getting treatment to those who need it, Catholic Community Services of Utah is following their motto of “providing help and creating hope.”
“We’re a richer society because we have more diverse folks who have different experiences,” Lauren McCarty, public relations for Catholic Community Services of Utah.
The organization provides refugees help to acquire the skills they need to live in the United States whether it is using a stove, driving a car or anything else that someone might take for granted having grown up in the U.S.
St. Mary’s Home for Men offers treatment for those suffering from addictions. Veterans make up a majority of the men in the program.
Individuals who need a meal or a safe place during the day can find help at the St. Vincent de Paul Center. There are showers available as well, which is important for those who may have a job, but no place to live.
Catholic Community Services of Utah serves people of all faiths and needs volunteers to help lift those they serve up.
