While “Thor: The Dark World” promises plenty of eye candy for both men and women, Darcy would be most welcome for her humor and willingness to stand up to her boss.
2. Comedy – Unless you have watched some of the dark versions of DC Comics on TV and in movies or you have seen the dark versions of the X-Men, you may not realize that some movies based on comic books take themselves really seriously. What makes the movies that Joss Whedon is involved in different is that they do not forget that they are based on comic books. That means they can be serious and funny.
Some of the greatest characters of all time are the wisecrackers of the Marvel Universe. Nightcrawler and Spider-Man help keep things light even when they are dealing with serious subjects. If I want all serious, I can watch the news or documentaries. I don’t mind movies that are serious, but I want my comics to have a little comedy in them. Robin’s function in the comic books is to make sure that Batman doesn’t devolve into utter darkness.
Yes, I know this movie is “Thor: The Dark World,” but here’s to looking forward to more of the Whedon humor because even real life has funny moments.
I try and stay away from trailers and other spoilers because I want the movie to be a surprise when I know I am going to see it. What do you hope to see?
