It may be too soon, but I want to urge those who are changing their profile symbols to do more than make an empty gesture on a virtual platform. It doesn’t even have to be related to Paris to make a real difference in life. It may be naïve on my part, but what I have learned from my travels is that people are generally the same everywhere – they want to be loved, they want respect, and they want to live better lives. Only those who become embittered by a lack of media and propaganda promises that fail to be fulfilled or those who are in desperate situations wherefrom they cannot see a way out will result to harming others. I acknowledge that there are sociopaths and psychopaths, but they make up a very small part of the population.
So if you really want to show your support for Paris and you cannot afford to travel there, find an organization in your community that is significantly different from you and join it. Get to know the Muslims in your city, make friends at the local Synagogue, find an organization that is supporting gay rights, hunter’s rights, animal rights, the rights of anyone that you might consider less than human now. The only way to stop the violence is to get to know one another, to make the unknown known and to learn that we all need to eat, breathe, love and learn to live.
To go through this together, we have to do more than show solidarity on a corporate virtual reality website, we need to embrace each other, love the other’s differences and learn what it is like to be the people that we would rather not associate with. You have a wonderful number of neighbors in your home area that you do not know. Go a make friends, have a friendly cup of coffee, discuss the important things in life and listen to each other. This isn’t an exercise in trying to be right. It is an opportunity to learn to live together peacefully.
I will share with you the most powerful technique I know in martial arts. Use it wisely.#power #realMartsArts#SecretTechnique
