$3 was too much for her, and she walked away disappointed. I didn’t really need the free coffee, even though I do like it. When my coffee was done filtering, I went and found the girl. I told her that the guys at Charming Beard wanted her to have it.
She was so happy. However, I had almost instant regret. As I walked away, I was glad that I could make her day, but I was sad that I missed out on that cup of coffee. What exactly was I going to get out of giving something to a complete stranger whom I would never see again?
I thought about it while I was driving to City Cakes and Café. Why do I do stuff like that? What was the point of such an act? No one would ever know or care. I finally decided to console myself with the fact that the coffee was free to me, and I was able to get more.
I spent a couple of hours at City Cakes and Café waiting for Solar Day Salt Lake to start. When I got up to pay, Nannette told me that it was on the house. Weird how that happens, and yes, my day was made.
