In spite of the short amount of time, I was able to get my free 5x7 photo courtesy of my Chase Visa card and sample two items from the festival.
There are 29 marketplaces this year. I am hoping to be able to try everything. The festival also has some pretty cool acts coming in, like Smash Mouth, Night Ranger and Sugar Ray. I am not sure which groups I will be able to see because I work evenings, but I plan on taking full advantage of everything I can.
The portions are strictly bite size, well maybe four-bite size. Be prepared for sticker shock.
I tried the Polish Marketplace’s kielbasa and pierogie – one pierogie, four slices of kielbasa and a small helping of onions. It was okay, but for the money, I would choose something else at the festival. They didn’t taste much different from what I have had before. The grilled onions were perfect.
I also had the griddled chees with pistachios and honey from the Greek Marketplace. It was really good. The top had a nice, crispy shell yet the cheese did not get melted all the way through, which was a plus. The honey was better than store bought. This is something I would get again.
