Monday, September 2 was a holiday and on September 6 through 8, I was in Atlanta, Georgia for a seminar, which only allowed me to go to the gym two days (Tues and Wed) that week.
I had every intention of going to the gym on Monday but got busy with some deep cleaning in the house and never made it to Youfit.
I try to make the house at least presentable for my friend who comes to take care of the cats while I am away. One of the kitties needs medicine twice a day so she comes in to do that as well as take care of the other cats.
While in Atlanta, I decided to take the stairs up to my room on the seventh floor. The elevators get very crowded during seminars and having stayed at this hotel before, I was somewhat familiar with where the stairs were.
They are through an “emergency exit” door that does not seem to have an alarm attached to it because there are no loud, annoying sirens going off when the door is opened. Walking upstairs would be a good way to get in some exercise, right? I made it to the fifth floor and had to take a break! A few minutes later, I continued up the other two flights and to the room.
This past Monday, I had another session with Youfit Coach Oscar. At the end of the session, he asked me how I was feeling. My response was that after two months of relatively consistent training and exercise I really didn’t feel as if any progress was happening. Oscar’s comment was that “we need to add more weights next time”.
Really? My arms were sore for 3 days after this last session. Has anyone had personal trainers? This gym does upper body one session and lower body the next session, then alternates between the two. Well, we will see. The next session is on Thursday.
Youfit also has an area they call circuit training. It is supposed to give a full body workout in 30 minutes, and they do training sessions for that, so I scheduled one for Monday. I will let you know how that goes.
It is count down time to the Tinkerbell Half Marathon! 4 months left until the event begins at Disneyland!
