See Aunt Mary at around the 10 second mark
January 19, 2014: the 2014 Tinkerbell Half Marathon – the goal I had for this event was to complete the course in the allotted time allowed or less which is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
I did not meet that goal. I did, however, decrease my race time from 3:45:56 for the 2013 Tinkerbell Half Marathon to 3:35:23 for the 2014 event. That is 10 minutes and 33 seconds faster than last year and only 5 minutes and 23 seconds short of my goal.

The 2014 Half Marathon was not as hard as last year’s event. I wasn’t wondering what in the world I was doing there at mile 8 or how I was going to finish at mile 9. My legs weren’t so sore by the finish line that there was no way to run across it. My muscles were sore when I was done but not as bad as last year.
The time I spent training at the gym did help with the goals that I had set, to some extent, although not as much as I expected.
Wednesday was the first session with the YouFit coach since the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. For a warm up I usually get on the elliptical machine for about 20 minutes, then have the session with the trainer and a cool down on the tread mill. The elliptical actually felt like it was easier than prior to the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. Could all the walking in Anaheim for the four days that I was there have helped to get past a physical block?
Next up – the Walt Disney World Wine and Dine Half Marathon.
