In 1928, a flood damaged the Arch, but it wasn’t dismantled until 1936. There were no plans or drawings of the arch. Only a few pictures remained.
In 2005, Blagoveshchensk erected a replica arch. It has 2 icons -- the Martyr Nikolas faces towards China, and Annunciation Icon faces the city. The arch is made of 30 tons of concrete, stands 20 meters tall (66 feet) and features the inscription “Land of the Amur was, is and will be Russian.” It was recreated from the few photos available at the time and paid for by several organizations and the people of Blagoveshchensk.
The Triumphal Arch plays a key role in the Treasure of Nikolai Nikolaevich: Adventures on the Amur #1
